11am: Wangaratta Library

Author of bestselling fiction The Dressmaker, Rosalie Ham, will be at the Wangaratta Library to talk about her new book The Year of the Farmer.

ABOUT THE BOOK: In a quiet town somewhere in country New South Wales, war is brewing. The last few years have been punishingly dry, especially for the farmers, but otherwise, it's all Neralie McIntosh's fault. If she'd never left town then her ex, the hapless but extremely eligible Mitchell Bishop, would never have fallen into the clutches of the truly awful Mandy, who now lords it over everyone as if she owns the place.

Now Neralie has returned to run the local pub....

ABOUT THE EVENT: Rosalie will be 'in conversation' with Michelle Delle Vergin, where we'll get the bottom of Rosalie's inspiration for her truly quirky characters, pin down the literary rationale for some of the more interesting plot-lines, and revisit the runaway success of The Dressmaker since Kate Winslet starred in the film.

Please RSVP to Jill or Michelle at Booktique, or the Wangaratta Library.
